Earth Savers

EarthSavers Crew Mission Statement:
To protect and enhance the educational programs of the Environmental Studies Center and to create opportunities for environmental service and enrichment activities for students.

History
Formally known as the Junior Council, the EarthSavers Crew was first formed in the  Fall of 2007 for middle and high school students interested in environmental science.  In 2009, the Junior Council was reinvigorated and renamed the EarthSavers Crew.  The Crew organizes and participates in a variety of community service projects that benefit the environment and the Environmental Studies Council.  They meet monthly and are run by Volunteer Coordinators Nicole Weiler & Samantha Robertson.

Membership
Membership to the EarthSavers Crew is FREE and open to all students in grades 8 to 12. The Crew meets monthly, and T-shirts are available for $12.  Interested in joining the Crew? Email info@escmc.org!

Purpose
To serve as the youth branch of the Environmental Studies Council and provide a positive environment to learn about our natural resources!

EarthSavers Crew Activities include Snorkeling Trips, Hiking Trips, Bike Trips, Kayak Trips, Camping, and more!

EarthSavers Crew Service Projects have included:
• Mangrove Restoration
• Species Restoration
• Installation and Funding of the Native Plant Butterfly Garden at the Center
• Osprey Perch
• Labeling Hammock Trails
• Center Campus Cleanups
• Beach Cleanups
• Adopt-a-Road
• Cleanup of Boy Scout Island
• Fish Counts and Bird Counts
